IT’s SO NICE TO MEET YOU!
Hello! My name is Ms. Reese. I am so happy to have you here! I grew up in Las Vegas before I went away to college at the University of San Diego. During my time at USD, I got my degree in Liberal Studies and my masters in Education. After I graduated, I worked in the San Diego Unified School District subbing in grades K through 5th. San Diego was an amazing place to be, but I am so excited to be back teaching in my hometown. I also taught in the Clark County School District before realizing that I was more passionate about individual teaching! I can’t wait to help your child develop a love for learning that will last a lifetime!
Education is the foundation upon which we build our future.

I believe in creating a positive environment that actively engages each student and prepares them for a lifetime of learning. This is such a critical point in a young learner’s life and I see it as my responsibility to give them a positive experience that will set the tone for their educational future.

The benefits to working with me are endless, but here are a few of my favorites!
Together, we will create a unique plan of action that centers around your child’s specific needs. I have experience teaching every type of learner (kinesthetic, visual, auditory, etc.) so I am able to customize their plan to maximize your child’s learning based on their strengths.
I use hands on learning activities whenever I can to create an engaging learning environment that will keep your child’s focus and make learning more fun. This also engages the student’s whole body to make the learning more memorable.
My goal is for your child to understand what I am teaching, which means that there is no set pace that we need to follow. Students can easily get lost in the fast pace of a classroom so we move at your child’s speed and make sure that they fully grasp each concept!
I act as a guide to your child’s learning by teaching them the necessary steps to succeed, rather than just giving them the answer. This guarantees that your child will succeed on their own by having the skills necessary to be an independent learner beyond my walls.
I have an independent learning space that I use for my teaching so that students are able to maintain a learning mindset. Often times, children enter a different mindset when they are at home so this allows them to be more focused during our sessions! My learning space has all of the necessary tools to mimic a positive classroom learning environment.

I am very passionate about individualized instruction and making sure every child has the best possible chance to succeed. I spent most of my time in college researching and discussing the best way to ensure a child is successful and fulfilled in their own learning journey.
Once I got to the classroom, I felt very stuck because I was unable to implement a lot of the strategies that I knew would be most beneficial to the students. In order to be the best teacher that I could be, I decided that it would be best for me to dedicate my time to teaching students one on one or in smaller groups where I have the opportunity to use the techniques that ensure children are active learners.

My goal is to create a positive learning environment that gives your student the opportunity to grow. I understand the importance of building a strong relationship with the student that makes them eager to come learn with me!
-
I teach all subjects! Reading, math, grammar, social studies, science, and more!
-
Yes! I have in depth knowledge of the expectations for each grade level and the level of mastery that students are expected to have by the end of each school year.
Through one on one teaching, I am able to focus on the specific areas that your student needs in order to reach those expectations. I also have a variety of materials that I use for my curriculum, including, but not limited to, the materials that are used in the school district. This allows me to connect to their learning in school while also using my own materials that work best for your student’s individual needs!
